Nowadays there are lot of platform for us to read news. We do not have to buy newspapers anymore as we can read paperless news; online news. But as a smart and educated person, we must not believe all the news that we read. T. Harcup and D. O’Neill (2017) stated the top five most read news that can give satisfaction to the readers is the news that contains these aspects:
1. The power elite: Stories concerning powerful individuals, organisations or institutions.
2. Celebrity: Stories concerning people who are already famous.
3. Entertainment: Stories concerning sex, show business, human interest, animals, an unfolding drama, or offering opportunities for humorous treatment, entertaining photographs or witty headlines.
4. Surprise: Stories that have an element of surprise and/or contrast.
5. Bad news: Stories with particularly negative overtones, such as conflict or tragedy.

According to Lifewire (https://www.lifewire.com/top-most-popular-blogs-3486365) the top 3 most popular news blog are:
ONLINE ONLY NEWS SITE
The most popular online news site that visited by Malaysian in 2016 according to the The Star Online.
THESTAR.COM.MY ranked as the top web domain in March 2016 with 917,000 unique visitors followed by MALAYSIAKINI.COM with 695, 000 and ABOUT.COM with 632,000 visitors. (The Star Online, 2016)
ONLINE COUNTERPART OF A PRINT NEWSPAPER
For this one I would like to recommend Metro newspaper because it serves variations of news and the news not covered by others newspapers.

Readers anticipating towards the news can make the online site popular and the readers can leave long comment and or participating in discussions with other commenters. When the engagement of the commenters are high, the online publisher get an extra benefits as the user generate the content a surprisingly the content become just important as the content the publication produces.
From my opinion, the site that I would recommend is online only news site as we can get to read news that will be update faster and more variations of news. As its also convenience that we can read where ever at any time and of course we do not have to pay for the news like buying the newspaper.

ReplyDeletei agree with janatul opinion that e-news is easy and convenience for us, Nowadays, smartphone or gadgets with us where ever we go, thus, rather than get a hardcopy of a newspaper, e-news shows it convenience as when people have free to read news, with just click of a button.
ReplyDeleteI agree that e-news had brought a lot of benefits to us and even the environment too. Printing of newspaper can cost a lot of paper and wastage in resources. With e-news, this can cut down a lot of paper usage globally.
ReplyDeleteIt is agreeable that E-news might very well be the solution to the mass use of paper and help in global warming reduction. Not only that, E-news is a way to save the delivery petrol as well.
ReplyDeleteDespite its conveniency, I think that e-news readers should always be alert and do their researched about the sites that they are visiting to avoid the consumption of fake news or unverified news. Other than that, I think that e-news is very beneficial to all as it is the fastest medium to let people know what is going on around us.
